What Floor Finishers do

Prepare floors for covering by removing old material and ensuring the floor is firm, dry and clean
Fix minor defects before laying coverings
Take accurate measurements of areas to be covered
Estimate quantities of material required and place an order with suppliers
Measure, cut and fit underlay floor surfaces
Lay covering materials over the floor
Secure floor coverings and fit edge trims in doorways
Sand, stain and polish to complete task.

The Future

Employment for a minimum of four years
Employment areas include: subcontractors to retailers or floor covering firms, self employed and retail organisations
