Benefits of Using a GTO for Career Seekers and Students

  • Training is matched to industry requirements and gives you a nationally recognised qualification.
  • Group Training offers more flexibility and security. They find the initial ‘host employer’ for you and then if necessary they can move you to another employer if things don’t work out or if your initial ‘host employer’ is unable to continue to offer you work. The apprentice or trainee has secure and continuing employment throughout the period of the contract.
  • Group Training staff monitor on-the-job training and off-the-job training to ensure that high quality and relevant training is provided in a safe environment.
  • The GTO takes care of all your wages, employment records and monitors award conditions and pay rates.
  • You can gain wider experience and range of skills with a smaller specialised ‘host employer’ who normally only take on apprentices or trainees at peak times.
  • Ongoing support is offered to apprentices and trainees to make sure the contract runs smoothly and to help troubleshoot any problems that may arise during the course of the training.
  • Some GTO’s offer assistance in finding permanent employment at the completion of your apprenticeship or traineeship.
