What Spare Parts Interpreters do

  • Speak with customers to identify their specific needs
  • Identify the make and model of automotive vehicles and equipment
  • Check databases and industry catalogues to source the required spare parts
  • Advise customers of suitable spare parts
  • Order parts and receive incoming stock from the warehouse and / or external suppliers
  • Prepare invoices and other finance documents
  • Process sales transactions
  • Pack, send out or deliver ordered stock to customers
  • Collect and store stock and sales records
  • Assist with regular stock checking and pricing of parts
  • Display spare parts in stores and workshops

  • Aptitude for routine, clerical and administrative work
  • Effective organisational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to sell
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Interest in motor vehicles
  • School Certificate

The Future

  • Employment for a minimum of four years
  • Employment areas include: motor accessory companies, spare parts divisions of large car dealerships and automotive wrecking companies
