Traineeship
What Vehicle Detailers do
- Vacuum, clean and maintain vehicle interiors including dashboards, consoles, carpet and car seats
- Clean, wash and polish the exterior of the vehicle including door trims and hinges
- Paint engine parts and blacken tyres
- Drive vehicles through car washes
- Pressure-clean or degrease and steam the underbody and engine
- Rust-proof the vehicle underbody and interiors with chemicals
- Cut paintwork
- Make minor repairs to scratches and rust marks and touch up any damaged paintwork as required using machines
Your chances of success will be better if you have...
- Interest in practical work
- Ability for detailed work
- Ability to work unsupervised and independently
- A good level of physical fitness
- A driver’s licence
- School Certificate
The Future
- Employment for a minimum of one year
- Employment areas include: car dealerships (new and used), service stations, vehicle rental firms, bus and truck depots and car wash and detailing businesses
