What Warehouse Workers do
- Receive goods and check them against order forms
- Label incoming goods with storage details and place them in bins or racks or on the floor
- Receive orders for goods, select goods from the holding area to complete orders and check against the invoice
- Package the goods and send to customers
- Use forklift machinery to move the heavy items
- Check the computer to obtain information on the location and quantity of items in stock
- Enter details of goods received and goods dispatched into the computer using slips, requisitions and invoices
- Conduct stocktaking and advise the supervisor when stock needs to be re ordered
- Maintain the working area clean and tidy
