What Timber – Forest Products Workers do
- Convert logs into usable timber by using bandsaws, gangsaws or circular saws
- Cut timber to size and undertake various operations such as kiln drying, visual or mechanical stress grading
- Prepare timber for dispatch by stacking and packing
- Use computerised equipment for the production of veneers, plywood , laminates and paper products
- Put together fabricated products such as timber frames and trusses
- Fill orders by selecting timber and cut timber to required lengths
- Keep administrative record
