What Office Assistants do
- Answer the telephone and either redirect callers or make and record appointments
- Receive and process incoming and outgoing mail, file correspondence and other records
- Transcribe shorthand notes or data from audio tapes into letters and reports using a word processor
- Use computers to store and retrieve data and maintain budget and account records
- Attend and take minutes of meetings
- Liaise with clients, organise business itineraries, travel arrangements, conferences, and meetings
- Operate, purchase and maintain office equipment and supplies.
