Traineeship
What Miners do
- Operate and monitor surface or underground mining machines and equipment
- Communicate and coordinate with other operators during earthmoving operations
- Perform routine maintenance on machines and equipment
- Complete development work including opening up new shafts, drives, air vents, rises, winzes or crib rooms
- Complete detailed operational log sheets during shifts
- Use electronic controls, sensors and monitors to operate equipment
