Traineeship
What Furniture Making Tradespeople do
- Select timber and manufactured board and prepare for use
- Design, measure, mark, cut and shape pieces using power tools and woodworking equipment
- Trim, sand and glue joints and assemble pieces together to form sections of furniture
- Prepare surfaces, mix and apply stains or paint
- Assemble prepared sections to form furniture
- Attach hinges, locks, catches, drawers and shelves
- Repair damaged furniture and cabinets as requested by customers
