Benefits of using Group Training
Group Training provides a simple way for businesses to hire apprentices and trainees. Group Training Organisations are dedicated to providing employment and training opportunities for people throughout NSW.
Group Training is an employment and training arrangement. The Group Training Organisation (GTO) acts as the primary employer to apprentices and trainees and places them with other businesses known as ‘host employers’.
The GTO arranges and monitors the on and off-the-job training (ie through TAFE or other Registered Training Organisation). The GTO's dedicated staff monitor the trainee/apprentice and provide support and advice for the host and the person in training.
The GTO also takes responsibility for all paperwork including wages, superannuation and other employee benefits. GTOs have a high level of committment to OH&S and the safety of trainees and apprentices.
GTOs also make sure that the trainee/apprentice gets to experience the right type of work by moving them from one business to another when neccessary. Some GTOs specialise in servicing specific industries (eg hospitality, plumbing, electrical) while others focus on regions.
All members of the Group Training Association of NSW rare independent, separately incorporated, not-for-profit organisations and have met the National Standards for Group Training.
