Waste Management Operator

What people in this role do:

  • Help unload waste from car and truck
  • Operate waste disposal equipment such as forklifts and compacting machines to sort, crush and stack waste material
  • Identify and handle hazardous materials
  • Load sorted waste onto trucks and dispatch to landfill area or recycling plants
  • Maintain equipment and facilities of the plant
  • Perform routine servicing and cleaning of storage facilities, plants and waste management equipment
  • Maintain records an prepare reports detailing plant operation
  • Facilitate school and visitor inspections
  • Receive, monitor and respond to remote alarms
  • Operate waste disposal equipment, forklifts and compacting machines

Your chances of success will be better if you have:
