Rail Transport Employee

What people in this role do:

• Operate and maintain locomotives and railway equipment
• Drive locomotives to transport passengers and goods
• Ensure the safety of the train and the passengers on board
• Operate signals to ensure the smooth running of the trains
• Maintain station facilities and inform the public on train arrivals and departures
• Repair and maintain railway tracks and their surrounds
• Work in remote locations in all types of weather and irregular hours

Your chances of success will be better if you have:

• Good communication skills
• Good oral and written communication skills
• The ability to concentrate for long periods of time
• Awareness and ability to work safely
• School Certificate
