Tour Guide
What people in this role do:
- Meet with and make introductions for members of the tour party
- Look after tour groups and ensure they are comfortable
- Lead the tour and check all accommodation and transport bookings
- Provide researched commentaries, point out local interest points, and share general information on tour highlights and history
- Ensure pre-arranged touring activities are in place such as visits to local attractions, restaurants or shops, train rides, cruises
- Attend to any problems experienced on the tour such as booking errors, lost luggage, illness and provide first aid
- Attend to administrative work, keep in touch with transportation companies and complete reports of daily activities
Your chances of success will be better if you have:
- Maturity and a responsible nature
- Good organisational skills
- Excellent general knowledge
- Logical thinking
- Good communication skills
- Patience, tact and cultural awareness
- Knowledge of another language
- School Certificate
