Textile Production Worker

What people in this role do:

  • Undertake basic hand or machine cutting of canvas, upholstery or curtain fabrics
  • Program computerised patterns into automatic machines
  • Lay out bundles of fabrics for machines
  • Make and attach labels to fabric
  • Press partially completed or finished garments
  • Inspect completed garments and make any required final adjustments
  • Clean work areas including tools and equipment

Your chances of success will be better if you have:

  • Interest in practical and manual work
  • Ability to carry out repetitive tasks quickly and methodically
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Reasonable physical fitness
  • Occupational health and safety conscious
