Textile Production Worker
What people in this role do:
- Undertake basic hand or machine cutting of canvas, upholstery or curtain fabrics
- Program computerised patterns into automatic machines
- Lay out bundles of fabrics for machines
- Make and attach labels to fabric
- Press partially completed or finished garments
- Inspect completed garments and make any required final adjustments
- Clean work areas including tools and equipment
Your chances of success will be better if you have:
- Interest in practical and manual work
- Ability to carry out repetitive tasks quickly and methodically
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Reasonable physical fitness
- Occupational health and safety conscious
