Retail Sales Assistant

What people in this role do:

• Encourage sales by providing product information
• Handle sale transactions, usually by operating a cash register
• Package goods for customers and when required arrange delivery
• Order in items not currently in stock and notify customers when these arrive
• Stock shelves and keep the store tidy and attractive to encourage customers to return
• Be aware of health, safety and welfare issues and practices
• Participate in stocktaking (counting and describing the goods in store)
• Arrange for the repair of damaged goods
