Retail Manager
What people in this role do:
- Oversee the recruitment, training, supervision of staff members
- Maintain standards by ensuring staff use correct sales procedures and practices to sell products
- Ensure staff attend and resolve customer complaints in a professional manner
- Inform staff of new lines of stock and changes to the prices of stock
- Draw up staff rosters
- Decide the layout of fittings and merchandise
- Monitor the level of stock
- Place orders with suppliers or head office
- Look after store assets such as cash registers, office computers and furniture
- Maintain accounts and analyse the records of sales figures and financial transactions
- Oversee security procedures for stock and cash
Your chances of success will be better if you have:
- Good communication, clerical, administration, organisational and interpersonal skills
- Good leadership and team development skills
- Self-motivation
- Enjoyment of interacting with others
- School Certificate
