Retail Buyers' Assistant

What people in this role do:

• Assist in obtaining information from store executives and salespeople about stock levels and goods
• Assist in analysis of which goods will sell well in particular locations and the price of item
• Aid in researching customer demands and trends by helping to process store sales and inventory reports
• Help inspect, compare and select goods at manufacturers’ or agents’ premises
• Complete administration tasks including answering the phone, typing reports, filing and other office duties
• Attend trade fairs and other displays interstate and overseas with Retail buyer to obtain information about the range of products available

Your chances of success will be better if you have:

• Enjoyment of clerical and administrative tasks
• Knowledge of the retail industry
• Good communication and organisational skills
• Mathematical abilities
• Willingness to travel
