Plastic Process Operator
What people in this role do:
- Check settings and safety devices before operation including controls, start machines and load materials
- Monitor machine temperatures, pressures and speeds of operation of manually operated and semi-automatic equipment
- Extract mouldings and extrusions, remove waste, trim and finish moulded components
- Control feeding equipment for coating of wire and cable
- Control equipment for blending, compounding and drying
- Maintain records of production and quality assessment
- Laminate fibreglass by removing air pockets with rollers and brushes before the mixture hardens
- Fit together various parts of the product by hand using bonding agents like fibreglass, tape or putties
- Before assembling shape and sand products
Your chances of success will be better if you have:
- Enjoyment of practical technical and manual activities
- Good hand-eye coordination
- Good physical fitness
- Ability to work well with others
- Enjoyment of working with machinery
- School Certificate
