Print Finisher

What people in this role do:

• Handle sheets of printed materials coming off the printing press, assemble the sheets, crop them to size and fold them according to specifications
• Use printing machinery and equipment e.g automated guillotines
• Organise bookbinding and finishing machines to assemble pages and attach cover
• Bind books together, using glue or by sewing
• Building covers around books using materials such as cloth, leather and fine papers
• Repair and restore book bindings

Your chances of success will be better if you have:

• An interest in practical and manual work
• Good vision
• Good hand-eye coordination
• Good general physical fitness
• Mechanical mind
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Attention to detail
• Higher School Certificate
