Museum Attendant - Guide

What people in this role do:

Organise and conduct tours of museums or galleries
Answer enquiries about the museum and exhibits
Inform visitors about exhibits and give directions where necessary
Control visitors’ access to exhibits and unauthorised entry into staff only areas
Check that all visitors have left the building at closing time
Inspect membership cards, admission passes and tickets to exhibitions
Patrol museum or gallery to ensure security of exhibits

Your chances of success will be better if you have:

Interest and passion for museums, art galleries and culture
Ability to articulate information simply and clearly
An outgoing, friendly and confident nature
Good oral and communication skills
Ability to manage groups of people
School Certificate

The Future
