Land Care Worker
What people in this role do:
- Remove weeds and unwanted vegetation using herbicides and minimal disturbance techniques
- Collect seeds and propagate local native plants
- Replant native trees, shrubs, grasses and wildflowers and maintain natural environment
- Control pests by using eradication programs
- Map vegetation, collect botanical and environmental data for research and documentation purposes
- Construct and maintain tracks, facilities and amenities in bushland
- Maintain equipment and vehicles
- Combat salinity by applying control measures
Your chances of success will be better if you have:
- Ability to perform physical outdoor work
- An interest in the preservation of natural bushland
- Good attention to detail and work methodically
- Skills to work in teams
- School Certificate
