Laboratory Assistant
What people in this role do:
- Maintain, clean and set up equipment for experiments
- Collect, classify and preserve specimens
- Feed, water and observe plants and animals in laboratory conditions
- Perform scientific tests on specimens and samples
- Complete experimental procedures, such as taking blood, testing seeds and plants
- Observe and test animals and plants for diseases
- Carry out mathematical calculations and prepare graphs and reports
- Operate computers and computer-interfaced equipment
- Perform quality assurance checks on production line samples and materials
Your chances of success will be better if you have:
- Enjoyment of scientific activities
- Ability to produce accurate and detailed work
- Good eyesight and normal colour vision
- Ability to work with others
- School Certificate
