Information Technology - Programmer

What people in this role do:

• Assist systems analysts and / or designers with research and documenting computer users’ needs
• Examine objectives and problems specified by analysts and / or designers
• Assist translation of the solutions provided by systems designers into detailed program specifications
• Prepare reports and notes for programmers, users of the system and support services workers
• Partake in program design activities such as definition of data and error message arrangements
• Modify, fix and test document programs to correct errors or to enhance a program’s capabilities
• Prepare reports for computer equipment suppliers, systems designers, programmers and computer operators on the status, operation and maintenance of system software

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good oral and communication skills
• Willingness to update knowledge on technological changes
