Personal Trainer / Fitness Instructor

What people in this role do:

  • Determine the needs and capabilities of clients through weighing, measuring and conducting fitness tests to check blood pressure, heart rate and lung capacity
  • Provide instruction and assistance to individuals and groups by facilitating an exercise session
  • Provide advice to individuals regarding equipment, methods and techniques
  • Design individual exercise programs for clients according to age and level of fitness
  • Assist with cleaning and maintenance of equipment and the centre
  • Work with a variety of health care professionals

  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Sound interpersonal skills
  • Confidence to lead a group
