Nutrition and Dietetic Assistant
What people in this role do:
- Discuss with health care team members the dietary needs of patients and clients
- Negotiate with patients food preferences
- Assist in the planning of menus for clients and patients
- Ensure food is hygienically and correctly prepared and presented well
- Assist Dieticians to develop a nutrition care plan
- Maintain patient diet records
- Assist in the training of staff involved in the preparation and serving of meals for patients with dietary needs
- Use computers for data system entry and retrieval.
Your chances of success will be better if you have:
- Good oral communication skills
- Interested in working with people
- Good organisational skills
- Ability to work with computers
- School Certificate
