Scaffolder

What people in this role do:

• Check drawings and written instructions, for job details
• Find the required materials and set ground levels
• Connect steel pipes, support braces and clamps to form bases for scaffolds
• Lift and position sections of scaffolding and bolt pipes together to build up scaffolding
• Position planks over horizontal bars to create platforms
• Ensure levels are correct in scaffolding structures
• Use prefabricated scaffolding when available
• Dismantle scaffolding at the completion of a job

Your chances of success will be better if you have:

• Practical skills and enjoy manual activities
• Physical fitness
• Good sense of balance and able to work at heights
• Ability to work as part of a team
• 18 years of age
• School Certificate
