Footware Production Repairwork

What people in this role do:

  • Design patterns for footwear
  • Use computerised or manual methods to make and grade footwear patterns
  • Check synthetics, make small repairs on correcting grains in leather, leather linings and leather outers
  • Finish shoes by cleaning and polishing
  • Alter or repair footwear for clients
  • Supply ready-made or therapeutic footwear as required

Your chances of success will be better if you have:

  • Practical and manual aptitude
  • Ability to work with your hands
  • Ability to do precise and detailed work
  • Good eyesight and colour vision
  • School Certificate
