Floor Coverer / Finisher

What people in this role do:

• Prepare floors by removing old material and ensuring the floor is firm, dry and clean
• Fix minor defects within the floor
• Measure the areas to be covered
• Estimate and order quantities of material required
• Measure, cut and fit underlay for carpets
• Lay carpet over underlay and secure
• Grind and smooth concrete, fill all cracks and indentations with self leveling agent, lay textiles and install coving to all internal corners
• Secure floor coverings and fit edge trims in doorways
• Sand, stain and polish floors

Your chances of success will be better if you have:

• General physical fitness
• Ability to do practical and manual work
• Ability to coordinate
• Sound vision
• No allergic reactions to dust
• School Certificate
