Laundry Worker

What people in this role do:

  • Identify customer’s items are labelled with a number or mark
  • Label, barcode and record articles as they arrive
  • Separate items according to colour, fabric and cleaning treatment, watching for damages and treat stains
  • Monitor the computerised washing and drying systems in laundry machines and load and unload machines
  • Operate pressing and ironing machines
  • Fold, count, stack and package articles for delivery as per labelled items
  • Maintain machinery and keep laundry clean

Your chances of success will be better if you have:

  • Good English literacy skills
  • Interest in practical work
  • Good physical fitness
  • No skin allergies
  • Ability to work efficiently with speed

The Future

  • Employment for a minimum of one year
