Office Assistant

What people in this role do:

• Answer the telephone and either redirect callers or make and record appointments
• Receive and process incoming and outgoing mail, file correspondence and other records
• Transcribe shorthand notes or data from audio tapes into letters and reports using a word processor
• Use computers to store and retrieve data and maintain budget and account records
• Attend and take minutes of meetings
• Liaise with clients, organise business itineraries, travel arrangements, conferences, and meetings
• Operate, purchase and maintain office equipment and supplies.

• School Certificate
