Aboriginal Education Assistant
What people in this role do:
- Aide and participate in activities which develop the physical, social, emotional and intellectual development of children in schools and preschool centres
- Arrange and organise indoor or outdoor areas for learning or recreational activities
- Provide academic assistant to children with intellectual, physical and behavioural difficulties
- Aide development of social skills in children
- Prepare teaching aides, copy and collate written or printed material to be distributed in class
- Collect lesson material
- Provide small group assistance to Aboriginal students
- Provide counselling at home and school support for Aboriginal students and their families
Your chances of success will be better if you have:
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Patience and tolerance

- Ability to work independently and as part of a group
- Enjoy working with children
- Ability to interpret situations
- Ability to follow instructions
